Hi iv been in the building trade since I was 15 years old I trained as a roofer first and worked on place like Leeds castle ,Chilham castle , Broom park then after a few years trained as a joiner and did that for 6 years working on various projects like Gatwick airport ,various hospitals, Luton hoo hotel etc i then went self employed and my first job was the rebuild of the Marlow theatre in canterbury after that I then sub contracted to a company for several years looking after land mark trust property’s and did the training in lime work and historic building works and church work I take great pride in all my work and enjoy building a good relationship with the customer I’m always happy to spend the extra time to go over the job and make sure the customer is happy I have 25 years experience in multiple trades thank you for taking the time to read a bit about myself kind regards Barry

He first arrived late (7:30pm instead of 5pm) and was still using his power tools gone 10pm. The frame he built round the cupboard looked okayish so i paid him but when i tried to attach the doors they didn't fit. I asked him to come back and fix it and his answer was that the doors needed to be changed (even though they are Ikea doors made for the Ikea Pax frame). Said he'd need another £70 and then after eventually agreeing to do it for no extra charge said he'd only come back if i picked him up and gave him a lift to the station!! He ignored my next few messages so i gave up trying after that as I wasn't that keen of having him back in my house anyway. If i've asked someone to build a frame around an Ikea cupboard I don't think i should have to explicitly say that i want to be able to fit doors! I was happy to attach them myself, hence why i didn't ask him to, but they were there in big boxes (that he actually moved at one point) so it's not like he wouldn't have known i was going to be adding doors. I'd think he might think to check when deciding how to fit the frame and at the very least he could have asked. I'd suggest avoiding him at all costs. I had to ask Mybuilder to allow me to resubmit my comment as i wanted to give more detail. My first comment was very short as i don't think there's much point in slagging people off but his reply was offensive and Mybuilder had to warn him. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID unless you want to pay someone else afterwards!!!

John was simply brilliant and got on with a complicated job of bespoke cupboards in our loft, cedar cladding plus wood flooring of utility room and hanging of double glass doors. I am so impressed that John is returning to hang a new solid oak front door and create bespoke under eaves pull out storage and under stairs shoe storage. Professional and creative, I enthusiastically recommend John.

Steve was able to design and build a very good mirrored cabinet for our bathroom. It was an unusually large cabinet and of non standard size. However Steve came out an measured it perfectly, quoted a very reasonable price, custom build the cabinet and then fitted it all professionally in one day. This also encluded moving a shaver until. If I’m looking for a jointer or carpenter for projects in the future I will be back.

Really excellent communication and craftsmanship! From the first visit to the final clean up, Steve took an immense amount of care about his work. He arrived on time, communicated really well and adapted what he could do to suit our budget. His workmanship is excellent, he revamped a built in media unit for us, taking care with the smallest detail. He then took pains to clear up after the job too. Highly recommended - will be using him again.

Simon sourced supplied and fitted 7 internal solid oak doors. Fitted shelving into a bedroom and a corner shelving unit into the kitchen. He works quickly cleanly and does a first class job many visitors comment on our doors. All this work done at what I thought was a very reasonable cost compared to other quotes I had received. I would 100% recommend this company they are returning again to do more work for me.
