Chris Lane made a complete success of the job (pair of alcove doors in an awkward space) for which I called him in. This really was an impressive performance. He arrived on time, was full of sensible ideas, left no mess and showed a very pleasant manner throughout. Simon was not punctual; he started his work at 2 pm (supposed to start at 10 am). He was waiting to buy all the materials on the day of work and could not manage to buy as Howden was closed on Easter Saturday (according to Simon, he was informed by Howden that it would remain open). I was not happy at all when he told me all these issues in that morning. BUT finally he managed to buy everything from B&Q and started working with his nephew at 2 pm. Simon annoyed our neighbor as he was working after 8 pm. My neighbor came and asked him to stop; Simon was in the middle of something; and stopped after 5 min; eventually my neighbor called the police; Simon went to the police station and handled the situation (and no bother for us). When drilling the wall for the shelf; his nephew went little too far; and the plaster fell off from the other side. Next day Simon came and did plastering on the wall. Now you will be wondering why, I am still giving Simon a positive review. After all these issues; at the end SIMON managed to finish his job quite nicely. He is extremely polite. He also asked me a decent price for his job. I wish he could be slightly more professional in future.

I hired DS Developments to completely landscape my small front garden. This involved clearing and levelling the area; moving and re-securing a bike shed; laying a patio and lawn; and a number of finishing touches. The area went from somewhat of an embarrassing eye-sore to an area of pride. One that several neighbours have already made compliments about. David provided a professional service from start to finish. His quote was more than I expected, but his knowledge and vision gave me the confidence to select his services. Stewart’s problem-solving skills were put to good use in dealing with my challenging kitchen with its uneven walls, pipework obstructions and sloping floor. He takes pride in his work, paying close attention to detail and not satisfied until everything was perfect and all cupboards were exactly aligned and the beautiful worktop was a perfect fit and with amazing invisible joins. Stewart is a master of his craft and did the work at a very reasonable price. I now have a fantastic kitchen and I couldn’t be happier with it - a big success!

We received quotes for new windows and external doors from 2 tradesmen and elected to proceed with Dowsing Home Improvements for several reasons. First and foremost, while the quotes were similar, Dowsing offered the most competitive of the two. Additionally we found Mitch to be extremely knowledgeable, competent and approachable, he put us under no pressure and gave us no 'sales pitch'. He is an honest and genuine tradesman which are hard to come by. Our project was not straightforward as we had builders on site. Nevertheless, Mitch worked in what was often challenging circumstances with limited access and space to install the windows and doors. The windows and doors are immaculate, we are so impressed by the quality of the product and the fit. We immediately recommended Mitch to a friend who also appointed Mitch and she is equally pleased with her new windows. I cannot recommend Mitch highly enough and I will certainly be in touch with Mitch again when I inevitably purchase my next renovation job!
