Mr Barber of Period House Renovation Co Ltd was contracted to undertake two renovations and a new build project at a site in Winchcombe in June 2017. The projects had a comprehensive set of plans and a schedule of works drawn up by myself and architects, Coombes Everett. It soon became clear that Mr Barber didn't always use the plans and made basic mistakes, such as ordering and incorrectly installing steelwork. Mr Barber constantly sought to charge for variations to the work and failed to comply with his own contract. Costs soared. My client eventually lost confidence in Mr Barber, who initially had appeared trustworthy and sincere. In April 2018 after no projects were complete and having charged in excess of £65,000 for variation work which he refused to justify, Mr Barber demanded a further £4000k/week to continue the work, despite our full contractual compliance. My client refused to pay and Mr Barber alleged he had been 'assaulted', as reason to abandon the works. The client took Mr Barber to an RICS Adjudication and won her case. The award remains unpaid and PHRC Ltd now has a pending CCJ against it. My client appointed a new builder in May who has since rebuilt much of the new build property due to omission of damp proofing, and shoddy roof construction. Mr Barber is adept at manipulating people, several previous clients have informed us that they regard him as a cowboy builder.To date, Mr Barber fails to accept any defective work and even the RICS judgement.

I chose Summit Renovation as the quote was really reasonable for the amount of work there was. James came to view the work first and discussed what would be best ie colour and which paint type. The paint was inclusive in the price. Work began the next week and the two painters did a great job and finished in less than 2 days and did not disturb me working at home. Highly Recommended

Julian quoted me a job for patching walls, emulsion and glossing skirting boards. He was always on time, turned up when he said he was going to, very respectful of the property, polite, did the job efficiently and to a very good standard. I am so happy with the job he did as you never know how these jobs are going to work out. I would definitely hire Julian again and I know the job is going to be done professionally and properly. Kris was brilliant throughout the project. Communication was good, gave us professional opinions and guidance throughout and daily. Work completed to a very high standard, the bathroom is beautiful. He gave great attention to detail, and kept us within budget. Not an easy job as a 100 year old building with lots of wonky walls (some even falling down during the project) - but the end result is fantastic. Finished to a high standard. Cannot recommend Cherry Group App ltd enough. Will use for future projects. Thank you so much!

Job went well.He did full refurbishment of our bathroom. Mr Sergue is sincere and organised. He left the place clean &tidy after he finished job. We had faulty item( toilet) deleivered by b&q but Mr Sergue was happy to collect the new item from the shop in his van. We selected some tiles but Mr Sergiue refused to put them on saying they are small size. Also was not happy to put the border on without extra charge. But geneally very happy with the job. And would recomend him. 👍🏻👍🏻
