Before setting up Durham Stonemasonry in 1999, I previously worked at Durham Cathedral for 16 years. Lewis our second stonemason also worked at The York Minister for 5 years then 19 years at Durham Cathedral. Carl our third stonemason was trained by myself and Lewis with 3 years at York college There is only 3 of us in our team who are qualified Stonemasons, to the highest standards.

With 40 years as a sole trader behind me, I have experience in many trades, but what interests me now are small projects, handyman jobs, fences and decks. I worked in Canada for 25 years, running my towns best known fence and deck business, and I'm happy to share photos of these once we make contact. I enjoy carpentry, and work to a high standard of finish and design in my work. With this in mind, I may not be the fastest, but will always deliver a quality product.
