Janusz from AJ Works did a great job in my small house refurbishment project. This was to remove and install a new kitchen including flooring and decorating and installing new appliances (hob, oven, hood, dishwasher, fridge / freezer and laundry machine). Also did bathroom complete upgrade as well as some reflooring in front porch. Quality of the work was good and timing was very realistic, even considering changes that had to be made due to an error I introduced in initial measurements. No surprises in pricing which followed initial estimate. Very helpful, professional and tidy. I would use A J Works again on my next project.

Kenny from Topnotch/Magnum Builders carried out a full renovation for us, including a large kitchen, bathroom, shower room, W.C, new lighting, radiators, and a master bedroom refurb. From the start he was professional, friendly, and easy to work with, guiding us through design, budget, and options with patience and care. His joinery is outstanding – even the quartz worktop fitters praised the precision of his kitchen installation as one of the best they’d seen. When faced with challenges, like installing a 250kg roll-top bath, Kenny found creative solutions that improved our design. He worked tirelessly, often 6 days a week and into evenings, and we completely trusted him in our home (and with our Labrador!). While a minor delay arose with a subcontractor, Kenny resolved it quickly and kept communication open and honest. The quality of his work and his integrity stood out throughout. We will definitely use Kenny again and highly recommend him and Magnum Builders.

Communication: James is very polite, knowledgeable and was proactive at setting up initial planning meetings with appropriate tradespeople present. His quotes were detailed and he was able to customise a plan to suit my needs, budget and timescale. Progress reports were limited but I was included in major developments. Rip-Out: This project commenced with a rip-out of kitchen, bathroom and flooring. Unfortunately during this process, usable shelving, window fittings and some personal items also got discarded. Timescale: 6 weeks was agreed, with the potential to extend if necessary. A final deadline was agreed a week in advance, but unfortunately this was not met resulting in my moving day being plagued by tradespeople and labourers. Attention to detail: I cannot fault the major work carried out by James and his team. This included installation of a new kitchen, bathroom and flooring, in addition to the creation of a downstairs WC. Labourers were used for the general prep and painting work, including painting all doors and woodwork. Some of this work was substandard. The clear-up was also poor with rubble and rubbish being left on site (my home). Overall: This was a 5 figure project so I expected a 5 star finish. At times I felt I was not a priority to James resulting in a rushed and somewhat untidy finish, with delays in completing snagging. Despite this, I would use the services of James and his team again as he develops professionally.

Callum replaced multiple weather boards on our dormer windows as they were starting to split due to lack of maintenance in previous years. It was a job that required attention to detail and was a challenge due to the dormers being recessed. The quality he delivered was great and 100% on budget and time. He communicated very well from first contact to finish and I would use Callum again in the future.

LJH as they were best price. Initially gave 7 days but the cost was too high and agreed 5 days as decorating the whole house. I had given Lee instruction to sand walls and skirting boards decorate all walls, ceiling, skirting boards, doors and stairs white. Upon near completion, I had inspected the work and mentioned some areas I wasn’t happy with? I mentioned this to Decorator. He then asked how well I wanted it decorated at this point I was confused as I had given instructions. I felt that work had been rushed There was also times when I went to the property and Lee Decorator was not there. I did raise this with Lee the Decorator and he says as long as long as the job was done. After work had been completed I made the mistake of paying before viewing completed work. Decorator had to come back as there were issues I will not be using LJH again.
