On our first meeting I felt comfortable and was glad of input from Robin. Agreed to a plan and only had to wait a few weeks before work could start. All preparations made to protect my drive before skip arrived. All work carried out in a very professional manner and team were very polite and friendly. Even though weather was against ground works they provided shelter so work could continue. I’ve been very pleased with their approach and can’t fault the outcome. Although met with a couple of delays on garden furniture, (nothing to do with Robin and his team, circumstances outside control)all other aspects of this job have met with my approval. Was apprehensive of having people in but can honestly say there have not been any issues and when the skip was removed within an hour, Robin was back on site to clear and wash down the drive. So looking as good as new. It’s been a pleasure having them on my property and will look at using their services again in the future should the need arise. Nothing too much bother. So my thanks to them all.

Overall, Duo Builders is good and I would recommend for any build work. Pros: 1. Committed to work and informed when not coming on any particular day 2. Had manpower allowing to add more hands if needed 3. Reliable people and nice staff / Team of young members 4. Does and completes work that was planned and agreed Cons: 1. Job took a lot of time than estimated as it was not thoroughly thought how the earth would be moved 2. Very hard to hold off the owner, its important for the client to be stay connected and informed. 3. Bit messy and site gets put of shape than original

We chose Gibbons and Sons for our Loft extension and new bathroom as they was one of the few firms who we contacted and was more then happy for us to view their workmanship during and after the build so we good see the quality of their works. They have been courteous, polite, very patient and accommodating to our chopping and changing of ideas. They helped us to bring our visions to life and offered advice when required without being pushy and driving a hard sale. They have been open and honest with our ideas and their recommendations and in some cases suggested a alternative more cost effective option. We had 10 interested parties for this project and Axe were by far the most professional, communicative, and timely of all. Eduard turned up on time, in uniform, and had the plans we provided printed out and ready for discussion - something none of the others did. Axe’s quote was detailed and itemised. For comparison, Axe’s quote was not the cheapest of the quotes we received but Eduard’s professionalism and transparency is what sold it to us. We were also given the opportunity to visit recently completed projects, which we did without Axe present, all with good reviews. The project itself went very smoothly. We worked closely on problems encounter during the works, and everything was done to a high standard. There were changes needed during the works and Axe were accommodating of these. Additionally, we lived in the property during most of the works and Axe were accommodating of this as well. There were one or two small issues a week or so after the end of the project and Axe returned promptly to resolve these. Axe clearly have high standards and are very reluctant to compromise those standards, which is great. We intend to use Axe for future work and are currently waiting on a quote for the next phase of our project.

Valter was very impressive on his initial visit with some exciting ideas for the house improvements and we had no hesitation in choosing Happy Building above the other two building firms who quoted. Having signed off on the budget and scope of work, Valter's team of builders arrived. We were hugely impressed with the skill, experience and work ethic of the team; the fact that they arrived early each morning smiling underlined the "Happy Building" epithet; Jarek, the site foreman, had an especially cheery demeanour. The work involved stripping the walls back to bricks, removing walls, reinforcing foundations, plastering, extending the bathroom and removing one bedroom to create a large ensuite bedroom. The latter certainly would not have been done without Valter's vision and patience in explaining how it would look. We were able to deviate from the original plans without any problem which was very important in achieving the final look which we had desired. Valter was very careful in sticking to time and budgets which I had never experienced before with builders. The kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, living room and hallways were finished to the highest possible specification within our budget. There were one or two small features which, with hindsight, we would have improved such as door handles and shower fittings, however this was down to us not specifying exactly what we wanted. These are very minor details and a tiny part of the overall picture.

Gris took on a full renovation of a 2 bedroom apartment. There were quite a few "extras" added that increased the cost beyond the initial quote significantly. They did a decent job on the bathrooms, lighting and kitchen installation. But not impressed by limited attention to detail (lots of issues that needed to be pointed out before they got fixed) and lack of knowledge how to treat real wood - they spluttered liquid all over an untreated walnut worktop that could only be rescued after extensive sanding, and laid a wood floor without leaving expansion gaps. As the floor now warps up and they are no longer responsive / acknowledge the problem, we now need to get other builders in to solve this. Overall, I would not use them again or recommend.

After meeting Simon when he came to quote for the job we were instantly impressed with him and his capability to complete the job, he filled us with confidence. He started the job within a couple of weeks and completed it in a timely manner to a very high standard. We added a few other bits to the initial job quoted, which were all priced reasonably. We were so happy with our choice of builder and with our finished Kitchen, Bathroom, new downstairs toilet and will defiantly be using Simon for any other work we need in the house or garden. Very friendly and highly skilled, we wouldn’t hesitate recommending Bray Building.
