Ernest and his team are incredible. They worked so hard throughout the summer heatwave sometimes working 7 days on the trot. Ernest was incredibly communicative and explained all that needed to be done so we were always reassured. We initially wanted a full chimney removal and kitchen and bathroom remodel. Once work began Ernest always resolved issues that inevitably came up during a remodel of an old Victorian house e.g. roof joists being rotten. He's also very solution focused, there were times we would request a design feature (e.g. vaulted ceiling, plastered in extraction, bespoke fitted bath) he always had time to listen to us and went the extra mile to ensure everything was done to a very high standard .. even looking for spotlights himself that fit my brief. Under his direction he managed to coordinate all trades efficiently and on time, meaning our project concluded in good time. His quote was competitive and fair, we would and will use Ernest again for building work.

I had a great experience working with Lalli for my potential second home renovation. Even though I withdrew my purchase deal at the end I feel compelled to write a review for Home Design and Build co. Lalli went through everything in detail in order to give me a quote which was reasonable in price and listed detailed works to be done. I feel confident that given the opportunity she would do a great job. I definitely recommend the HomeDesign &Build for any home renovation projects.

I recently had a full renovation completed on my 1-bedroom flat by BLG Development Ltd, including full rewiring, new plumbing, a brand new kitchen and bathroom, as well as replacement bathroom window panels. Overall, they did a fantastic job and I’m really happy with the final result. The transformation of the flat has been amazing and the quality of the work has completely changed the space. They also left the property in a clean condition once the work was completed, which I really appreciated, and even kindly left their hoover for me to use for a few days as they knew I wouldn’t have my belongings back immediately. Small gestures like that made a difference. To be completely honest, communication was a bit challenging at times during the process, but despite that, we maintained a good working relationship throughout and any issues were handled professionally. Overall, I’m very pleased with the outcome and would definitely recommend them for renovation work.

Very impressed with the work Deyan completed for me. All the things that should be an automatic of paid work like being punctual, sticking to agreed dates, quoting accurately, not leaving messes, etc were all 100%. The extra bits of providing expert opinion and doing a thorough consultation, plus advising on future proofing my design and materials was above my expectations. He even helped repair something from a previous builder, knowing it meant the job would take longer. Extremely happy with standard of finish work and the end product - many thanks.

Electrical- 21 Jan 2023
Outstanding. My perspective on the work assessment, process and completion could not be more positive. A wonderful team of knowledgeable and dedicated electricians. Highly professional in their work, always aiming to get the highest quality result. Communication was excellent - emails and telephone calls returned promptly and those working in my property were able to explain the issues, process and outcomes in language I could understand without the use of too much technical jargon, which would've left me feeling anxious. Certificates were completed and sent as soon as the job had been completed and the works were finished within the estimated time frame thanks to their dedication to their task. My property was kept tidy with minimal intrusive work and my opinion was sought when there was an option of how to proceed with a task if it required intervention that would affect the decoration of the room. These interventions have been minor and are easily touched up and most importantly I have fully functioning and safe electrics in my property.

Handyman- 8 Oct 2026
Jordi and his mate came on the first day and practically threw the shed up, they said they would return the next morning, but Jordi arrived at midday on his own, in a few hours he put the boarding on the roof, laid the epdm over it, laid a laminate floor inside and ran skirting around, to say he threw it up is an understatement, the work was appalling. I stupidly made the mistake of paying him in full before I could have a look, when I saw how bad the work was I asked him to return and rectify things, he said he would when he returned from Spain, I have tried contacting him but complete silence now. I will have to get another contractor in to put things right. Avoid this bloke, he is in it to earn as much as possible at the client’s expense, don’t be fooled by the previous reviews.

Positively, certain aspects of the finishing, particularly tiling, were carried out to a good standard. However, the overall experience was mixed due to significant issues. There were notable challenges during the project involving basic logistics and site management, leading to considerable inconvenience that seemed avoidable. Furthermore, the quality of workmanship was inconsistent; while some parts were good, other areas involving fittings and fixtures showed a lack of attention to detail in the finish, requiring later adjustments. Communication during the process could also be difficult, particularly regarding problem-solving and planning for materials. While we appreciated the parts done well, the project was let down by these inconsistencies and process issues, leading to some ongoing snagging and disappointment.
