This was a very sentimental project for us, renovating my late mother’s bungalow after her death from MND. At first Scott seemed capable & hands-on, and progress was good. When our family faced two sudden bereavements, we were transparent that payments would temporarily reduce, but we never missed one and larger sums resumed after only six weeks. Despite having trade credit and other work, Scott made the money issue personal, even saying we had “nearly bankrupted” him, despite him taking several holidays during our build. From June onwards he stopped attending site altogether. Work under his oversight was poor (plumbing, flooring, radiators wrongly placed), and whenever we raised concerns politely, his responses were often defensive or hostile. The home was finally finished with several snags, but we chose to bring in other subbies to redo work we weren’t happy with. Scott was not even present for final handover. Big thanks to Ryan & Daniel who worked tirelessly for us in the end.

I honestly couldn’t recommend Dan enough - the work was completely to a super standard and his price was reasonable (and didn’t change from his original quote). Communication was great. He’s a lovely, honest guy, explains things clearly without being patronising and left everything spotless. Next time I need anything doing on the house, he’ll be the first person I try.

I cant recommend JS Home Improvements enough. Jonathan provided a thorough quote, agreed a start date and completed the chimney breast removal in less than 3 days. There was no stop/start issues or leaving it days to return and complete. Jonathan was reliable and very hardworking. It's hard to find decent and reliable tradesmen nowadays but you won't gonfar wrong with JS Home Improvements. I will be using this company again. I'm more than happy to be used as a customer reference in the future and speak to any potential customers about our experience if Jonathan needs this. In person or via telephone.
