Restoration & Refurbishment- 1 May 2019
Just would like to to leave feedback for John and his team. My Wife and I had a very tuff time schedule to achieve a total refurbish and rip out of our place and it was achieved by 21 Century Building team. The team was very understanding with a few changes along the way due to the age of the building and very friendly Even with the tuff time schedule that I gave them. Johns was always on time or early, always willing to give advise and assistance with all aspects of this tuff time scale job he was very supportive collecting supplies, ideas on how to use space available in a small and very compact place, get all tradespersons in at the same time, knowledgeable and funny when needed to ensure we could complete the Refurbishment within the time scale given. The transformation was amazing which was completed within the time scale given. There was a few small snagging issues that John has assisted with and kept in contact after all was completed. I will pass on his details to others who require some help and most importantly advice.

Roofing (Pitched)- 3 Apr 2024
Had our roof replaced with Straightline, top quality service. As always with a big job like that, problems popped up and things didn’t always go right. We’re in one of the most exposed spots on Portland and got hit by one of the biggest storms of the year just as our roof was off, resulting in a bit of a leak. Credit to Josh and the team - they were out of bed and at my house at 1 in the morning, in the driving rain and howling winds, and got up there to make it right. Also insisted on paying to get the ceiling underneath repainted even though we were planning to do it anyway and didn’t mind. 10/10 on communication, customer service and workmanship. Cannot recommend highly enough. He should also probably charge more, I say this with reluctance as these guys will be my go to for building services going forward 😂

Fencing- 4 Oct 2018
Matthew has just replaced a small section of fencing for us. We trust his judgment and expertise - he thinks about what he is doing as if it were his own property, and is very careful not to make any undue mess! He also consults every step of the way, checking that he is doing what we want. All in all, a very professional guy who I recommend unreservedly. We will most certainly use him again.

Restoration & Refurbishment- 12 Dec 2021
William carried out our bathroom refurbishment, which involved demolishing an old shower cubicle, installing new plumbing for a bath, replacement shower and sink and fitting them, tiling the shower walls, wiring a new light and heaters, plus work on skirting boards, wooden flooring, etc. He also moved the outside waste outflow pipe. William has a wide range of skills and experience which enabled him to carry out all this work to a high standard. He was very flexible in responding to occasional changes requested to the planned work. He was able to accommodate the need for the bathroom to be in use while the work was in progress. He was punctual, reliable, and tidy. We are very happy with our new bathroom, and would certainly use William’s services again.

Windows & Doors (uPVC & Metal)- 14 Sep 2024
We were happy before it rained and we thoroughly checked their work. They left mess, razor sharp edges on the glass, and glass overhanging neighbours land a little bit. We asked them to return to remedy this which they said they would do this coming Tuesday. Since then we have also noticed that they have cut our glass too short, cut the new hardwood at too steep an angle which was bodged in with wood filler, and now it's rained this new roof has massively leaked. In places where the glass is cut too short and even along the length of one of the new wooden beams; must be missing a bit of silicone. It is now Saturday and we have called them 2 days ago on Thursday, yesterday Friday we called and texted, and today again we both texted and one of us called them, to check if they are still coming on Tuesday or not. 3 days is not unreasonable to return a call or text just to confirm either way. More rain is due between now and then, concerned about lack of communication and quality of work.
