I employed GWBS to undertake some renovation work. The building work was done to a reasonable standard. As extra work I decided on underfloor heating my wows began! I had issues with its installation they ignored manufacturers guidance. The floor was laid on an uneven floor but they had fallen out with the subcontractor and wanted me to chase the works to its completion. I had difficulty getting the work finished. So I refused a final invoice, of £450. Over a 3/4 month period I managed to find someone to finish the flooring.They did the best they could it's uneven in places and the heat isn't uniform. I still needed electrical sign off - I was chased for updates. I asked for them to stop harassing me, we agreed to accept the job as finish they would not contact me again. The subcontractor contacted me - the electrical checks were done. Having promised they wouldn't contact me, they did, asking for payment. I responded to the text, yes (mistake) but blocked their calls. A few months later they appeared at my house, I was at work. I contacted them immediately via email. They threatened me with debt collectors if I didn't pay that day. I offered a good will payment they refused I endured a day of emails, claims of letters said they sent, sighting recorded delivery, of out of context text messages. In fear of debt collectors, feeling under duress and stressed I paid them! I am now considering should I take legal action for distress and harassment.

We were very impressed with Peter and a Lick of Paint, right from their very prompt and clear quotation, through the job to completion. Our house is grade two listed and overall this was a relatively big job taking them two weeks and a day overall. Peter and Andrew arrived exactly on time and stared immediately with an obviously well planned schedule. They had a mix of tasks, from renovating wood, re-staining a considerable expanse of wood cladding, painting outbuildings and three garage doors, replacing some window sills and renovating others before painting again, stonework, gutters, joists and gables were all covered. All work was external, and thankfully the weather was relatively kind to them. We were very comfortable leaving them alone with house completely open to them. we are very happy with the results. Probably the most convincing part of this review is that we have already requested and accepted a quote for further work. We have no hesitation recommending these guys.

George, James and all their colleagues have been incredibly professional, efficient, honest and helpful over the last few weeks of renovation work on my old house that was falling apart in places. They worked on replacing all my windows, front door and French doors, as well as painting most of the house, and I couldn't be happier with all that they've done. Everything is finished to impeccable standards, I couldn't have asked for better. They were also very understanding when I had a strange request for one of the windows, and they made it happen, I got exactly what I wanted. They were very generous with regard to giving me free advice about what to do/not to do when I got the survey for the house, thereby saving me a lot on costs, for which I am very grateful. The whole team was also very understanding when I had to delay the work, and they really helped me out a lot by trying to accommodate my schedule despite their own very busy schedule. The house was in a chaotic state but they put up with it, and were very patient and kind about everything throughout the process. I couldn't have worked with a more pleasant and professional team. The house is looking great because of what they have accomplished. Given the high standards they work to, I am having them come back to do my roof in a month. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend George, James and their whole team to anyone looking for the best professionals who will treat their client's house with the greatest care and respect.

Kevin arrived promptly, carried out work of adding waste pipe to sewer drain. Very neat and tidy, quick and professional. Extremely polite and a pleasure to converse with. Impressed by workmanship and explanation of job progress, rectified small problem with limescale build-up in sewer drain, that was restricting the efficient flow through at no extra charge. Would defiantly recommend and would have no hesitation in using again.
