What's best to put in between patio slabs?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.22 PM
Landscaper Just laid a greenhouse base of patio slabs on concrete. Joints have a 2-3mm gaps. He put sand in the joints but someone told me as sand is porous and the fact the the slabs are on a sand/cement, the joints will become boggy as they can't drain. Is this correct? Should I use some else to fill the joints?

Usually on slabbed bases you should butt the slabs together so they don’t have joints. But in cases where there are joints the best thing to use is fast mix or easy joint which is a mixture of sand and cement. I never point up slabs with just sand as it the weather will wash it away.

Easyjoint compound but you'll have to force it in with a trowel as the gaps are really small
