Planning granted for Basement, GF & FF

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.38 PM

Full planning granted for Basement, GF and FF but can I just build GF and FF (as basement construction is expensive and now I do not want to build it)? (Ofcourse will have to do foundation from bottom) and can I get completion certificate at the end of the job ? Please share thoughts and advice Thx

You can progress with all or only part of your planning approval. There is no requirement for you to build all of it.

You can build GF and FF only and get the completion certificate. Of course, you will need Building Regs approval for that and structural calculations as well.

Like above, you can leave the basement. You need to update the Building Control drawings to reflect that, and they will issue the completion certificate, once the job is finished.

You can normally proceed with only part of the works proposed in a Planning application. However - it all depends on the nature of the proposal. The proposed development may only be acceptable in its entirety - in order, for instance, to cover all requirements of a specific use. It is impossible to give useful advice on this without more information on the proposed development. I'd gladly help but I'd need to know more about it.
