s/c rendering onto brickwork

Anonymous user 4 June 2020 - 4.36 PM

hi i want to s/c render a garden wall which is face brick. just need some advise on what the best mix is and should i put any additive in ie waterproofer, lime ect, as the render is going right down to the pavement level. The bricks i want to render have a textured face one side and smooth the other. (4 inch wall) cheers

You want to apply 2 coats. Personally I’d use a 3-1 scratch coat with waterproofer and sbr. And for the top coat I’d do a 5-1-1 mix including lime with again sbr and waterproofer.
