Replacing socket/switch with blanking plate
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.40 PM
Hello, in my kitchen I have a live, neautral and earth wires coming out of the wall covered in insulation tape. This has been like this for 8 years or so while I've had the house and now want to cover it up and want to know the best way to do this. Please correct me if I'm wrong but would 30a connector blocks work and then put the blanking plate over. Thanks any help would be great

No, you need a box either surface or flushed in. Needn’t be ‘waterproof’ 😀 connectors or wago’s blank plate... done.

No, a qualified electrician will need to make a hole around the area and put in a waterproof junction box with plate on top. This is to make it accessible for the future.
