LVT - respectable manufacturer brands? Quick Step/Amtico/Karndean/Polyflor/other?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.16 PM

Hi experts, I'm trying to choose some LVT for my flooring job, and I'm just wondering if there are any brands to look at or to stay away from. I've heard quite contrasting things about almost all brands, so comments from someone with experience would be helpful! I know that LVT's popularity is relatively recent, so maybe most of us don't have all the info yet. I would like to choose something of reasonable quality (and thickness) that isn't overpriced. Click-style btw. Any ideas where to start? Quick step looks promising and not too difficult to acquire. thanks

Hi there, I've been fitting LVT for several years now and can say that polyflor Camaro is an outstanding product also there Colonia range is cheap and again if fantastic quality, as for Karndean your pretty much paying for the name on this brand, I've had quiet a few bad batches of Karndean recently, as far as amtico it's a great product, and I've not yet fit any quickstep LVT so couldn't help you with that.Hope this helps on your choice, also stay away from cheap Korean made LVT like LG and TLC there terrible products

Hi Two brands I would recommend. Quickstep for laminate flooring. They have a wide range and the 'click' mechanism is very good - much better than most DIY store brands. A tip for laminate flooring - buy the best underlay you can for your budget. As for LVT, I recommend Karndean. I am a certified Karndean installer and when fitted with Karndean universal adhesive and the subfloor is perfect, it will last you a long time. A good brand, but I admit not the cheapest. Karndean also do a range of click flooring but I havn't fitted this yet personally. Hope this helps. Gary, DPM.
