Will a freestanding dishwasher fit instead of a integrated one?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.53 PM

I bought a replacement dishwasher which is free standing. I measured the dimensions and it should fit. Is there any difference between a freestanding one and integrated, besides the controls at the front?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

yes a free standing dishwasher will fit, the only difference will be that you will remove the kick board, and not have a matching unit door. this will create an open space for the dishwasher to fit into. the plumbing etc should all be the same.

The difference between a free standing and integrated dishwasher. Freestanding have an outer body casing whereas an integrated one doesn’t. They also sit on adjustable feet and can be located anywhere where you have space or an opening under the work surface. An integrated dishwasher is made to fit inside a purpose made unit housing. They also have attachments on the front door for a kitchen cupboard door to be fitted so that it blends in with the existing kitchen units and cannot be seen. Over all it will look just like a kitchen cupboard until you open the door to reveal the dishwasher inside.
