About Louis Kingwill
I am fundamentally a very hands on and practical person and I love my job.
I have 20 years experience as a self employed general builder. I have worked in and around the Bath area for all of this time. I have during this time been fortunate enough to work on some fantastic older listed buildings as well as a few contemporary projects.
Midford Castle, Dyrham park, Dittarage house to mention but a few.
I undertake projects ranging from loft conversions, extensions, garden landscaping, complete refurbs and renovations, natural stone & hard wood flooring, bathrooms and kitchens to bespoke timber and steel work.
I have during this time expanded my own "prowess" and also fine tuned my team of guys to encompass "all things building"
I am able to do any work from plan. Or can provide advice and guidence for smaller projects.
I employ a small team of 5 chaps whose skills range from labourer, carpentry, plastering, tiling, flooring, structural steel work, welding, hard & soft landscaping, roofing to brick laying & stone masonry.
I make use of a vetted and trusted array of sub contractors for plumbing, electrics, damp proofing, home alarm systems, upvc installation as well as some other specialist trades.
I am always happy to put clients in touch with my aproved architect, structural engineer or planning consultant.
This business model allows me to provide a more personal service while still enabling me to keep overheads down!
I have a very good relationship with local planning authorities and am always happy to manage this aspect of build if required.
Lastly and most importantly. I am flexible! I accept and embrace the complexities of my chosen profession and take great pride in resolving any challenge.
Louis Kingwill.

Renovation of kitchen/dining room/bath/shower room Restoration & Refurbishment
Louis and his team were excellent – so glad we found him through myBuilder.com. Throughout our project, Louis acted very professionally from the start to the final minor snagging points. He and his team were reliable, efficient and courteous. At the end of every day, he walked us through the day’s events and the intended work for the following day. He provided solutions to unforeseen problems and came up with some innovative ideas of his own. We would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for an honest, reliable and first-class builder. John & Pamela Craig, Corsham

Replace existing sunroom; reconfigure bathroom & bedroom Extensions
Working with Louis has been a delight. From the very beginning he has been completely professional. The quality of the work is fantastic, Louis thinks of things that I did not even consider. The costings were accurate and when there was a variation it was priced immediately. Louis passed on any savings he made in the final account. Louis managed the project, dealing with all aspects of building control and sub-contractors, with a shout out to Pete who was also highly skilled. Probably most importantly Louis is completely honest and trustworthy, he does what he says.
Overall, I could not be happier, the outcome far exceeded my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Removal of wall/kitchen fitted/plumbing/electrics Kitchen Fitting
Louis responded promptly to our inquiry and arranged a site visit within 48 hours. The advice and guidance offered during site visit was outstanding, it is clear that Louis knows his stuff. A itemised estimate and breakdown of costs was provided as well as additional information and guidance on things we would never have thought of.
Unfortunately though, we have subsequently decided against undertaking said building works. Subject to the professional service provided I felt obliged to leave a review regardless and will certainly contact Louis if our situation changes!homeowner - 6th Apr, 2017 Positive review
