About JDN Property Services

We often enjoy hearing how companies became to be, so we thought we would share our story.

From an early age of 14, I learnt many skills from roofing, plasterwork, plumbing and some joinery.

On turning 16, I joined one of the bigger known preservation firms as an apprentice plasterer. My day to day jobs were different dealing with all kinds of dampness, infestations, rot and decay within commercial & domestic properties, historic Scotland projects and even in some religious buildings, some of the most spectacular experiences in my opinion.

Throughout this time, I picked up awards for my achievements at trades house in Glasgow. Some of the awards included, The British gypsum award, The Lady MacDonald award and apprentice of the year along with a few others.

As time progressed I then went into the office as a surveyor, investigating, report building & costing jobs.

I also have experience in the insurance repair sector. This was dealing with fire and flood damage and other aspects of house insurance repairs. I then moved on to venture back into the preservation industry to another two leading names.

Unfortunately, the management changed at my last company, things just weren’t the same and standards started to drop. I decided it wasn’t for me and left the company.

It was then in April 2015 we, as a family, decided to launch JDN Property Services. Initially it was to keep myself in a job, but things quickly grew due to our work and determination. This included Working all over the country and western isles.

Since then things have gone from strength to strength. We have worked in hospitals, police stations, offices, shopping centres and procurator fiscals’ offices etc. The company has since evolved, keeping our core of plasterwork and preservation works, but more recently we opened its facilities management division supporting businesses’ and maintaining their property allowing their cogs to keep turning.

We, as a family run business, still strive to deliver the best we can. We have taken on employees and have serving apprenticeships, giving them the opportunities, I did, providing tomorrow’s future tradesmen.
