About Jay Bennett Restoration
I have been a sole trader for over 4 years now. I began sub-contracting to a firm carrying out restoration on historic buildings across the country. This work was mainly carried out on Grade listed buildings and façades such as hotels, wedding venues, churches, barn conversions, theatres etc.
My main line of work is repointing and repairing brick and stone. Repairing brick and stone is a much more cost effective way of prolonging the life of your property without the mess and expense of rebuilding. I do have some experience in bricklaying, flat render and joinery though it is rather limited.
My prices are very competitive. I mainly work alone as well, which keeps the labour cost down. I do not sub out my work to others or leave jobs half done to go start others. I am organised, trustworthy and always upfront about what does and doesn't need doing. In this line of work you don't just want 3 quotes, you're going to want 3 opinions. Taking the cheapest quote could end up costing you more money.
Any large jobs are always measured as accurately as possible followed up by a formal quote and contract. I can also provide scaffold inclusively and on short notice. Feel free to provide your own but my scaffolder looks after me without exception and won't be beaten on price.
Thank you for reading and good luck with your search on MyBuilder.

Polite notice: I will not carry out small jobs higher than 4.5 metres off ladders. For example, chimneys, verges, ridges, upper floor lintels, etc. This is simply because it's not safe when I'm working mostly alone.
