We’re so happy with the decking Chris and his team built for us! The quality is great and Chris provided advice and creative ideas throughout the whole process to make sure we ended up with a design that exactly met our brief. The space wasn’t perfectly square and had a tree and some large roots to work around but this didn’t phase Chris at all. The finished result looks amazing! The price was competitive and they completed the works really quickly too!

Looking to replace 35 square meters of old wooden decking, I sought true woodworking craftsmen with experience of both wood and composite decking and was highly fortunate to find Well Decked Out. They offered a professional service of planning and construction at a fair and reasonable budget with a time scale that fitted well with my requirements. In particular:
• Through careful planning and pre-ordering of materials the agreed budget & timescale were achieved in an efficient manner, despite the decking supplier sending incorrect composite boards.
• As true craftsmen, equally at home with wood and/or composites, Chris and team clearly took considerable pride in their work producing a result of some beauty that will last well beyond the life of the original decking.
• From the outset, the team discussed ideas on the layout of the decking, offering advice in a non-intrusive manner bases on their wide experience of many decking projects.
• The team were totally professional in their work, advising when materials were to be delivered, their plans for the next day, always tidying up and removing material waste.
• Most reassuring, members of the team were highly reliable and trustworthy, which meant that we could, and did, leave home at any time, assured that our property was in safe hands.
They were open and accommodating, and the whole project was a pleasant stress-free experience.

Well Decked Out were competitively priced, efficient (finishing our 26msq deck in two days), and thorough, making a complicated canal-side decking project look very easy.

Although the deck looks amazing, what impressed me the most was the sheer enjoyment Chris gets from creating something special out of wood. I couldn't recommend Well Decked Out enough.

Chris and his team did a brilliant job of our hardwood decking. All done and dusted in one day. They were considerate, and cared about the end result. Were also very accommodating when we needed to pause and discuss the right height.

After deciding on costs involved and a start date the service and professionalism was first class. Chris and his colleague turned up on the day and time agreed and got to work straight away. The timber was arranged by chris to be delivered before hand so they can start work on time.

The weather was appalling. It continuously rained, however this did not stop them from working tirelessly and finishing the work on the day they promised. Not even a Covid Vaccination stopped them from working. Thank you guys for the commitment.

Tip: Chris is always open to suggestions and advice on maintaining the decking so make full use of his knowledge.

We needed something that would pull the garden together again after some building work we had done. Decking seemed the way to go and after advertising on MyBuilder we shortlisted down to 2. Chris came along and listened to what we wanted to achieve, offered his input on how we could do things differently and better to achieve a result we had not really thought of. The work carried out by Chris and Danny was fantastic and we could not recommend them highly enough. The work was done to a very high standard and it has transformed our social area that we are really looking forward to using over the coming years with friends and family. Again I would not have a problem recommending them to anyone who needs decking done. We also requested lighting all the way around which was done and just makes the area all the more useable at night.

Garden decking project; Bridging the front of a summerhouse and shed with a walkway between -
Chris visited and provided good advice and ideas on the design and choice of material, followed by a competitive quotation. His knowledge and experience was evident in conversation and this influenced our decision to proceed.
Ably assisted by Danny, both worked hard over two days to complete the job exactly as described and agreed. I provided decking lights that Chris fitted, and their attention to detail is excellent with the decking boards fitted at 45 degrees to disguise misalignment of both buildings with angles and and cut-ins around building verticals and fence posts that look great.
In summary, an "old school" carpenter who uses his knowledge and experience to very good effect.

Garden decking and pergola in super uneven garden.
Chris came to my place and provided us with good advice, ideas on the design and reasonable quotation. His knowledge was evident in conversation and we decided to go ahead and do the job week later.

One piece of advise I would give to anyone undertaking a project is to get everything in writing, especially changes. We worked through them all to a satisfactory outcome but like all tradesman it never replaces having them documented.

Altogether a good outcome

Chris replaced our deck for us in December. Chris came to give us a quote and could see we were looking for something different and came up with a fab design. He had a cancellation due to Covid otherwise we would have been waiting a few months. Chris is a great guy friendly, a perfectionist, always checking in with us. The end result is we have an amazing deck in record time. His sidekick Dan was also fab.

Chris was brilliant from the initial call, to visiting for a survey and the job itself.

The work was completed quickly, to a high standard and for a fair price.

Chris was always happy to provide advice and I will not hesitate to contact him again for other work that we will have in the future.

Chris had to remove loads of rotten decking from a pub garden and renew it all, there was a lot more work than we originally thought as they wanted to create a larger area to fit more tables for dining, Chris designed and built the new area and also fitted a neat hand rail around it, the client was delighted with the result and so was I, he has so much attention to detail. has a passion for what he does and is highly skilled . After deciding on decking as the best option to house our new hot tub (we needed something strong to support the heavy weight, but also wanted it to look great), we considered several options. We had a couple of site visits and quotes, and then made the decision to ask Chris at Well Decked Out to take on our job. He provided the best quote, and was the most passionate about the job too. He clearly knew his stuff, and immediately began to come up with fantastic ideas and suggestions to make everything look as good as possible. As you’ll read elsewhere, Chris’ motto is, “I don’t do ugly”, which is certainly true and fair. What we took from this is that if he can’t make a job look great, it’s not for him.

Having accepted the job, Chris had all the materials delivered to us at a convenient time, and was always in communication. He was with us when he said he would be, and got on with the job straight away. He works tirelessly, and our whole family were amazed by how much he got done, how quickly and how efficiently he did the work. He is a model worker! Chris was great. Really great. I had a small challenging job that was time sensitive and he responded better than I could have ever imagined. He was trustworthy, diligent and on time. He just came in and grafted to get the job done. He ended up being just a couple of decking planks short as I slightly changed the job at the last minute and he returned 3 days later to finish off the job. Pricing wise - he was fair and reasonable to the budget I had and I felt I got both excellent service and value by choosing Chris over the other 2 options I was considering. Chris installed a new deck for me and it was a fantastic experience. Finished in half the time he said it would take, and the work was done to an excellent standard without requiring any supervision from my side. Chris re-assured me that he doesn't 'do ugly' and it was more than certainly the case. More than happy to recommend his services, and it's easy to see why he's a busy man and I'm glad we decided to wait for him to become available rather than rush the job.

Chris works alone and very hard! He understood what was important to me when it came to our decking and fencing job (to style sympathetically to the house with beautiful lines, and to shape around existing trees both our side and our neighbours.) He did this and was patient enough to ask if I was happy every step of the way. He made suggestions to add in a seat and stylish step down to the grass of the garden and added in trap doors (completely invisible) to accommodate various manholes. The finished product is gorgeous and all done in an incredibly efficient and tidy manner. We shall be inviting Chris back in the near future to build a summer house for us.
