Review from MyBuilder user from St Albans Review left on 18 Oct 2026Rating: 3 out of 5The installation of the chimney hood was good. The fan works very well - 8/10 for installation. The job had to be rebooked and the price was raised significantly due to additional work and equipment hire needed to install it - 5/10 for the quote. The workers were friendly and polite. However, they made scratches on my worktops and on my new fridge because they didn’t cover the areas adequately. The wall area surrounding the chimney was filled but not smoothed so additional work is required for a perfect finish!Review from Michael , Covent Garden, London Michael , Covent Garden, London

Shahzad did a great job, his communications prior to the job were clear, he offered a fair transparent price for the job, arrived on time and completed the job quickly and cleanly with no fuss, making sure to test everything afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend him and will use again.Answer from tradesperson:
Thank you so much Michael for your honest feedback .

Shahzad Alimi, aka Shaz said they are registered with NiCEIC or NASPIT to carry out the job. But after requesting repeatedly for a couple of days for his registration number he did not provide it, Nor his company was found on the NICEIC or NASPIT. I had to cancel, a complete wastage of 3 or more days as the job was booked with my tenants.Answer from tradesperson:
Hi, I’d like to clarify all points clearly: ✅ Company registration — Your statement that my company is not registered with NICEIC is incorrect. We are fully registered and compliant; your claim is wrong. ✅ Scope of work & details — You initially told me only 5 lights needed replacing, and I provided the quote for that. It has since become clear there is an underlying fault requiring fault-finding — which you did not mention upfront. This is additional work, not a simple replacement. I had considered helping with the extra as a goodwill gesture, but given how this has progressed, I will not be carrying out any work for you. ✅ NICEIC number request — There is no legal or regulatory requirement to hold or provide a NICEIC registration number for simple replacement of light fittings. This work falls under minor, non-notifiable work and does not require it.
