Richard is a superstar, very responsive from the start, worked diligently and shown his love for his craft. We never had any engineer willing to go an extra mile before.
We had ongoing issues with our boiler for almost a month, we had 4 different engineers called in to resolve the issue but they weren’t getting to the root of the problem and the boiler failed to fire up. They gave us tons of reasons from PCB, ignition electrodes, air-lock etc. The last two engineers were from our boiler manufacturer directly.
I was frustrated with this situation and at this point, I called in Richard from RA Heating & Gas Ltd. He started his diagnostics from the Attic where the pipework starts and worked his way to the boiler and drain. He fixed multiple issues with the heating system, replaced badly fitted/leaking 3-way port, inefficient pump and old air vent. This allowed the Boiler to fire up (Hurray!). He monitored the boiler functioning for a while and found an issue with boiler not modulating flame on lower settings as it was making a very loud noise after water reached a certain temperature. He replaced the faulty gas valve within the boiler and the noise disappeared and continued to monitor the boiler, after 20 mins or so the boiler locked out again, he checked and boiler and said your drain is blocked somewhere and surely, we had the blockage under the sink pipework. He went ahead and cleared the blockage without kicking up a fuss to call a plumber or someone else. Cheers!
