Leak from lead-lined box gutter
We had a severe leak into the house which came from a joint in our lead lined box gutter. On 30 November 2023 a Mr John Woods from Pyramid Roofing Services undertook to re-line the entire gutter with a coat of fibreglass to make it “100% watertight”, work he guaranteed in writing for 10 years. On 1 December he and his team completed the work together with some additional lead work that we agreed. His handwritten invoice/receipt repeated his 10-year guarantee. On Monday 4 December, after overnight rain, the leak was worse than ever with water damage in the bedroom below. I immediately phoned John Woods and was amazed that he denied it could be due to his work. However, he agreed to come the following day, Tuesday. On Tuesday he cancelled and said he would come on Thursday. Again, he cancelled but promised faithfully that he would come on Saturday. On Saturday he failed to come, failed to answer my phone calls and failed to reply to my texts. Since then, we have heard absolutely nothing from John Woods or anyone else in Pyramid Roofing Services. After taking legal advice we have made a formal complaint asking for reimbursement of all the money paid. We sent a letter by email but have received no reply and also by post, recorded delivery, to the company address as supplied by MyBuilder. That letter was returned because there was no such address and the addressee was unknown. Would I use Pyramid Roofing Services again? CERTAINLY NOT.
