    Utility room

    The build started off ok but after a few weeks the standard of workmanship seemed to be slipping. We were led to believe the work would take 3 to 4 weeks but after 7 weeks the work was still not complete. We felt towards the end that the job was being rushed due to his other commitments. Matt became disgruntled when we asked him to redo certain things that we felt weren't up to standard. Matt wouldn't speak to us in the end and would only email. I wont list the jobs that weren't finished when Matt left the job but will say that he only seemed interested in getting his final payment. We were very disappointed.

    Answer from tradesperson:

    This feedback is very disappointing yet not unexpected. Im unsure as to what you think was left to complete, we carried out all our contract works, had Building Control sign off the build and issued all certification as required. As a Client you were very disruptive causing delays to both my Contractors and Myself. The project did suffer delays as you are well aware due to a close family bereavement which at the time you claim to appreciate, obviously this was not the case. I have copies of all communications between us which i will share with any future Client showing what we were subjected to at the end of our works, as well as a written statement from one of my Contractors which was prepared in readiness for the legal action that was proposed.

    Drawings for an outbuilding/cart lodge

    I’d recommend Matt Brister D&B to anyone. His eye for details and excellent carpentry work exceeded my expectations. He has constructed a beautiful timber outbuilding for us in keeepin with an adjacent listed cottage. I’m very happy with his work and hope to continue to work with him on other projects we have planned.     6 Doors and a triple bifold

    Matt was a pleasure to have around. He overcame numerous problems easily, and a few extras were thrown at him which he did happily. We were very happy with all aspects of Matts work and are pleased to have found a local and helpful joiner. When we are feeling flush, he will be called back again to do all the doors inside! Thank you.

    Created 2 bespoke wardrobe areas including the making of doors and shelving areas. Plastering of areas affected included.

    MJD Design has done many jobs for us the last job was fitting a wood burner. He knocked out the fireplace fitted a new surround and tiled the inside and then fitted the woodburner to a very high Standard. He's very polite, turns up when he says and doesn't stop working. I can trust Matt in my house when we are not in and would highly recommend him to anyone.
