Fireplace
Very very disappointed and upset and feel as though wasted £280 on this job which appeared to us to be straightforward. Initially agreed on drawing of what we wanted but the finished fireplace looks completely different we made mistake of not being at home on the day he completed the job. Piece of wood used for mantle is a complete joke and big screws visible at front. Gap for fire hardly big enough to fit anything in and looks out of proportion to what was required. Wanted cash up front to purchase materials which was not a problem but afterwards we have noticed that cleaner was purchased that was not used as bricks were a state and not left for us and also provided £20 that not received receipts or materials for.
Bricks were a mess required a great deal of cleaning which took us hours and we are still cleaning our floor which was used to mix his cement! Extremely upset of what we have been left with which is an embarrassment in our house and we now need to pay for someone to do a proper job. When discussed this with Mike he quickly became abusive and intimidating on the phone saying would sue us over any negative feedback on this website also admitted he wouldn’t be happy with this monstrosity in his house either.

Total nut case f,,k off down the phone when i tried to explain that you have to wait two days for the morter to dry before you clean it or you just wash it out,And the cement i mixed up on the bare floor was because i was told i could because it was getting carpeted and when i said ill clean up i was told oh its ok we will do it, nasty lier arn,t you stefan chorley< BUILDERS BE WARNED>
