We agreed a start date for the work, and from the beginning communication was slow and required constant chasing. Alan sent me a full materials list, which I purchased on the understanding that the job was proceeding. As the start date approached, I repeatedly tried to confirm when he would arrive so I could organise my day and be available to help on site, as we agreed for me to b involved as a labour. Despite reading my messages, he stopped responding entirely. I sent multiple messages and tried calling several times over the course of a week and received no reply at all. The job never started, and I was left with purchased materials and a significant amount of wasted time. I cannot comment on the quality of his work as he never turned up, but based on the communication alone I would strongly advise others to be cautious.

Best described as a waste of time, which caused me the loss of a not-inconsiderable sum of money. Initially, Ace of Spades did come, if a little late, and cleared the site (all excellent), before cutting a few paviers to prepare level ground for pouring concrete to form the new shed base. Sadly, this base is not level (not sure how that can happen with wet concrete?) but slopes away They asked for half-payment which I was foolish enough to agree to. We set an early date for their return to erect the shed which was delivered to the correct position, but they failed to arrive and have not responded to any further communication attempted by several methods. Untrustworthy, unreliable and poor workmanship.

I am pleased to recommend Alan and his team at Ace Of Spades Groundworks & Construction. We recently hired them to dig an external trench for new pipework, and the entire experience was exceptional. From the outset, Alan's communication was excellent. He kept us informed throughout the project, and his team consistently arrived on time and ready to work. They completed the groundworks on schedule and made sure to tidy up at the end of each day, demonstrating a high level of professionalism. We were so impressed by their work ethic that we hired them for another job, which they also completed with skilled efficiency. I highly recommend Alan and Ace Of Spades for any construction project. New Patio Alan was fantastic from start to finish, with a high level of quality and exactly what we wanted

It was very easy to work with Alan. We were quoted for several different garden jobs (new shed/ returfing/ decking/ patio) and Alan broke it all down so we could decide what we could afford to have have done. Good communication throughout the process as there were some issues with the shed delivery. Alan kept us up to date as much as possible. Very professional and tidy whilst on site. Will be using Alan again for more work planned in the near future.
