Very bad workmanship for 5 reasons: • Once the job was ‘complete’, rain water started to seep into the wood around the porch window frame and the windowsill on the inside of the porch. The joiner returned to put sealant around the outside (after I had complained) but this should have been done before completion & should have been put on the inside too (which it wasn’t). • However, the second issue is that after some more heavy rain & wind, the sealant has started to peel off as it was put on while the wood was wet and is now hanging in clumps and strings around the window frame. • Thirdly, the joiner broke a pane of glass while carrying out the work with no apology or offer to pay for this Himself - I had to pay for its replacement. • Fourthly, the joiner left a hole in the adjacent porch wall to where he fit the new window sill and made no apology or attempt to fix this. • Finally, the wood was not finished in any way and pencil markings were left in full view around the frame on the inside. All in all, I was extremely disappointed with this service and will not be hiring this joiner again.

The access stairway down to the back door of our premises was unstable and the major load-bearing timbers were rotten. Additionally, the gate at the top of the stairway had been damaged beyond repair in recent storms. Blair replaced the gate, stripped out and completely replaced the stairway, recommended non-slip step covers, and provided safety handrails on either side. He worked quickly and professionally throughout, left no mess behind him, and communicated well with me to ensure that he fully understood and complied with my wishes and instructions, whilst making suggestions and recommendations where appropriate. He was a joy to work with and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.
