Completion of driveway 8mx5m
Jimmy and his team did a good job job on my driveway but it took alot of hardwork persuading him not to cut corners, for example we agreed he would fit my bike box and i even told him to make the base on the first day so he could finish it on the second day, but he didnt do that so i had to push to get him to finish the job.
He also agreed to lay the wiring but I ended up doing all of that myself - i actually helped with the manual work throughout the job, which saved him an extra man's wage but i still had to push him not to cut any corners.
Having said that the driveway does look nice apart from my door step which has some gaps between the stones but Jimmy says this is how its meant to look, i just wish i didnt have to argue with him to get the job finished.
He's punctual, and funny - comes early about 7.30am, but needs supervision.
Answer from tradesperson:
I did not agree to the fitting of the bike box therefore I did not cut corners and I also did not agree to laying the wiring as it was not included in the price of the labour. When laying bull nose kerbs you do not see any gaps as they are butted up together. I didn't argue with him to get the job finished as he had other cowboy builders come in, digging the job out and hit the electric cable. I, myself have never hit an electric cable before in all my 35 years of experience, therefore I also would need any supervision as I know how to do my job properly.
