Mr Mcghie visited to inspect and quote on the work on his way home from another job. He offered a price to complete it there and then, as the job seemed quite straightforward, but first he fixed the bath plug, for no charge, as it took him only about a minute. He started the main job, but only got so far before hitting a snag that wasn't evident at first inspection. He proceeded to go on and repair this, having to improvise to some extent, and it took far longer than had been first envisaged, especially as the same problem arose with the other fixing. A job he thought would take 20/30 minutes (if nothing unforeseen arose) ended up taking the about 2 hours. Despite this he didn't complain, or make an excuse not to do it, but persevered to finish it properly. I told him that, in the circumstances, I wouldn't hold him to his quote, but he made only a very modest increase to it, which was low in the circumstances. He then went on to clean and tidy up after the main plumbing job was done. Throughout his visit, despite the snags that arose, Mr. Mcghie remained very approachable and amicable, and had no objection to me watching him at work, or to answering questions, which he also did pleasantly, explaining things as he went along. After his visit, my wife and I agreed that Mr Mcghie was the most good-natured contractor we had ever used. The quality of his work was excellent, and his price for the job was also really good. We'd use him again, and highly recommend him. 10/10
