I have been in the building industry for 12 years and self employed for 5. Although doing my apprenticeship (NVQ 3) in bricklaying (trowel occupations) I have spent my career in general building working on smaller domestic sites. The quality award winning company I did my apprenticeship with did very little sub-contracting. This gave me the opportunity to master most aspects of construction to a high standard as we worked on extensions from start to finish.
