I retired from the Royal Navy in 2025, after serving for 30 years, and decided to strike out in a different direction, calling on skills I developed before my naval career working as a painter/decorator for 4 years during my University holiday periods. I maintained these skills throughout my period of service, by decorating every home I’ve ever lived in, as well as assisting my parents, siblings and now my children. My naval career provided me with experience in project management, operational planning and safety, which I have taken forward into my painting and decorating business, which has now been running for a year. However, the most important qualities I learnt, and pride myself upon, are: 1. Turning up on time. 2. Paying attention to detail. 3. Communicating promptly to prevent misunderstanding. 4. Cleaning up after oneself!! Examples of my work over the past few years can be provided on request, and are available on my Facebook page “Martin’s interior painting”. I am based in and around the Helston area, and normally travel up to a 20 mile radius from Helston, but this can be negotiated.

Nightmare experience . Had to be asked to come.back several times as first time paint left all over the carpet and massive patches not even painted have photographic proof and apologetic text messages . Second time asked to come and correct or refund paint came off carpets patches still not painted again have photographic evidence and third time really poor job with streaks evident on rooms and basically hideous job. Not chasing them any more but will never use them again. Very disappointed messages insinuating slander however photographic evidence and apologetic text messages . Absolute rip off do not use . Fed up of these clowns
