Flooring is my family's trade, so have spent time learning and working alongside them before doing my own flooring jobs. I’m Gavin, a painter and decorator working as GK Painting & Decorating, based in Burnham-on-Crouch and covering Essex and nearby areas. I work on my own, so you deal with the same person from first visit to the last coat. I carry out interior decorating including walls, ceilings and woodwork. That covers single rooms, bathrooms, hallways and full houses. I also take on prep-heavy work such as filling, sanding, caulking, peeling paint and making good damaged frames and sills before any finish goes on. I treat the prep as part of the job, not an extra. Surfaces are cleaned, filled and sanded properly. Woodwork is cut in carefully. Fittings, floors, sockets, handles, hinges and glass are protected so the finish stays on the paintwork, not on the house. I aim for a clean, even, premium finish rather than a quick cover-up. Rooms are left tidy at the end of each day, and I’m happy to look at the work with you before I start so the scope is clear.
