Mr. Mcmillan provided my wife and I with a quote to prepare and woodstain our exterior woodwork and to paint the garage door and soffit boards. We were happy with the quote and the job was started. On a Tuesday morning Mr Mcmillan appeared at 09:30 with his assistant, four and a half hours later he approached my wife and was looking for payment of £1000 for the "work done" that day. My wife had to go to the bank to get the money while Mr. Mcmillan and his assistant waited outside our house, my wife duly returned and paid Mr. Mcmillan. My wife asked for a signature for the money and she then wrote out the details on a piece of notepaper which Mr. Mcmillan signed. I am not sure how much preparation could have been done before painting but all windows, eaves, one door and a patio door were apparently finished with the garage door and soffit boards still outstanding. Various text messages and 'phone calls followed this as I thought that £1000 for four and a half hours was a bit much, Mr. Mcmillan disagreed. It was decided that we did not want him to carry out the rest of the work and I asked, on more than one occasion for a proper invoice and for some of the product he used so that I could touch up chips and scratches etc. this has not appeared and the invoice was received by email after almost four weeks. It is unfortunate that this whole experience is a negative one in my opinion and therefore I cannot recommend.
