First of all - the job ended up being a lot larger than initially thought- as decided to replace old ceilings and flooring, walls -everything was uneven to start with. So took everything back to 'bare bones' and pretty much built it up again as a new house. New electrics, water pipes, completely new kitchen and bathroom. I really appreciate they were very straightforward with the estimated costs from the beginning - it did run slightly over budget but nothing too bad as had some contingency funds prepared. I would have hated to be quoted one price then half way through the project to discover it escalates out of control. Thankfully they are really honest and reliable. They were always easy to reach and replied any question I might have had in a timely manner. This was particularly important to me as I was between uk and us at the time so couln't be 'looking over their shoulder' so to speak. Last but not least the finish and quality of works is absolutely amazing! They couldn't have paid more attention to every little detail if it was their own home. For instance I remember last day of work when they were tidying up Gustav came back to put up door stoppers for me, completely on his own initiative. It's just a little touch but goes to show the dedication they've put into the project and care about the finished product.

Rating: 5 out of 5 5562 reviewsMike has totally transformed our bathroom, Bath sink and toilet were removed ready for a shower unit new sink and toilet, did have a teething problem of the amount of pipes under the bath which we were not aware of that ran through the middle which meant all pipes had to be renewed and redone and a stuffed wall had to be put in to cover them which was not expected but Mike completed the job with excellent skills, tiles and paint were completed to an excellent standard so much so that because we are renovating one room at a time we all just want to sit in the bathroom. Only downside is that the old stuff is not removed by Mike and Maggie but I contacted the local scrap yard who were happy to take the bigger items off of my hands and my husband had to do a run to the tip with the rest. Will definitely use them again as our kitchen is our next venture. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mike and Maggie and cannot fault the work.

Latest review:Conversions - General-If you are looking for a caring and conscientious builder then look no further than Stephen. Not only is he on your side for your project and budget, he gets the job done with absolute attention to detail. He works incredibly hard and is not satisfied till you, the client, are happy. He has a photographic, encyclopaedic memory for all things building and structural. He, with his extensive experience, is worth more on your project than any architect plans or drawings. Not only is he damned good at what he does, he’s polite and thorough. He also has a fantastic team that he keeps a close eye on at all times. There are no loud radios or requests for coffee. His team have a fixed break/lunch, bring their own supplies and I’m embarrassed to admit, leave your house tidier and cleaner than when they arrived - even when doing excavation/structural work! I offer only one word of caution, once Stephen and team are in, you won’t want them to leave, and you will start asking him to do all those other building jobs you never knew you wanted done! You will be very fortunate if you can secure him for your project. You can complete confidence in him, his team and their work.

Latest review:New Builds-Sohail worked closely with me on this project. Providing detailed costings, work schedules and build timelines. Filling my knowledge gaps with his extensive experience he was able to assist over and beyond what I expected from him. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control this development project didn’t go ahead. However when the next opportunity for a new build comes up I will definitely be using Rose and Stone. I did have another job going at the time where the other builder badly let me down and left me with a big problem on my hands…. Sohail and his team stepped in and took on the project. The team finished the job exceptionally well, which was a full on top to bottom conversion, some internal reconfigurations and with the addition of a loft and new downstairs WC. The workmanship and overall quality of the job was excellent. My wife is over the moon with the results, taking the house from a three bed one bathroom to a four bed 3 bathroom house. We would definitely recommend Rose and Stone for this type of extensive refurbishment/loft conversion work and look forward to working with them in the future on bigger development projects.
