  James and his team have completed a major renovation for my Auntie in Kelso. The work included the rip out, disposal and installation of 2-bathroom suites, a kitchen, and a large patio area. The lads were on site on time every day, kept me updated with video updates as to progress and kept the house clean and tidy during the renovation. The standard of the work is top quality and any issues we have had have been sorted on the same day. The patio area looks lovely and has finally given my auntie the opportunity to use the patio for the first time in 18 years! During the rip out, some rotten floor was found from a long-standing water leak – this was repaired at a good price and in good time. The job was well priced, and James did not ask for any upfront payment – payment was in stages as the job progressed and once we were happy with the work up to date. From measure up, to starting and finishing, everything was smooth and easy. The house is transformed, and my auntie has a new lease

  I hired Paul to level and grade my garden after he provided the lowest quote for the job. Partway through the work, he requested additional payment to “dress” the garden for a better finish. I agreed to this, bringing his total price in line with the highest quote I had received from other contractors. Despite paying this additional sum, the garden was left in an entirely unsatisfactory condition and does not meet the terms of our agreement. The standard of work is far below what would be expected from a competent tradesperson, particularly given the extra payment made for an improved finish. I also want to highlight that I can find no company registered as “Paul Haley Design & Build.” Instead, Paul requested that payments be made to “GAIRNEY BUILDERS LTD,” This lack of transparency is concerning and something others should be aware of.

  Started with a kitchen from 1926 that had only a poor modernisation in 1981. Original Plaster needed improving, and many more gremlins....but.... Build Right fitted the new kitchen and did a massive amount of prep work, improvements and finish to an extremely high standard. definitely recommend!
