Do not hire this so called 'electrician;. When he left there was a disconnected neutral in the mains switchboard and most of the sockets were not working. He was called out to sort out a problem with the electricity tripping. He told me his charge out fee was 35. However he took the liberty of charging 120 to the person I had delegated to pay him. From what I could see the only work that had been done was that he closed two sockets which had been left open by a previous emergency electrician. No more work was done. He did not identify the problem. However, he contacted me and asked for 250 more to fix it and said it would take a full day. It was suggested to me that leaving the neutral disconnected was one way of me being forced into calling him back , guaranteeing him more work. Worried about the situation I contacted Pimlico plumbers for a qualified experienced electrician. In one hour they found that the mains fuse board had been left with fittings loose and the neutral had been disconnected ensuring we had no power in most of our sockets. In total it cost just 95 to call out Pimlico plumbers who have qualified tradesmen in all categories including electricity. When the tradesman is working they have a system where you call the office and they transfer you to the electrician who will talk you through the work. It was money well spent. I found an accountable honest electrician who was able to give a full analysis and options to fix it.
