Tiling was very good. However, time keeping is AWFUL. Firstly he cancelled, but promised to come at the weekend. Then on Saturday I got up early and was waiting for him at 8am. By 9am I had still not heard from him, I called and he said he didn’t want to come this weekend and would come on Monday - he didn’t even think to tell me! After the call, and me explaining that we had already had the toilet taken out for him, he agreed to come out.... but then called me at 10am saying he had changed his mind, and didn’t want to come out after all, but would offer me a £50 discount if he could do the work on the Monday and Tuesday. I reluctantly accepted as it was obvious he wasn’t going to come. On Monday, I was up again early waiting for him to arrive at 8am, and he rolled up at 9.30. He then left early at 3pm. The next day he was also 1.5hrs late, so didn’t get the job finished as promised. He then said he needed £50 to put fuel in his van! Finally on the last day he was 2.5hrs late and only turned up to pick up his tools for another job!!! He did come back at lunch to finish, but I couldn’t believe his cheek. Then he said the price had gone back to what he had originally quoted as he had needed "extra products"!

Mr Gammon has done a fantastic job on my kitchen. I have previously used Mr Gammon to do some tiling for me in my bathroom, which was also done to the highest spec but had lost his contact details so used this site to find him again. Mr Gammon turned up when we agreed, was extreamly careful of my belongings, which some tradesmen are not! and was helpful and very friendly. The work was carried out professionally and he cleaned up after himself which is always a bonus, would definalty recommend to all of my family and friends and to anyone else looking for tiling work on this website. Another thing to say is that Mr Gammon was very friendly and patient when my son was around and asking what he was doing! When you have children its nice thing to know a tradesman is not going to rude or be swearing when you have a family around the work you want carried out. Dismissed after poor workmanship supported by two independent expert witnesses. Tiles uneven, insufficient adhesive, particularly in the wet room where the grout was merely dobbed on, tiles incorrectly cut, grouting uneven with regard to width, tile trim did not cover edge of the whole length of tiles due to uneven levels, aggressive threatening behaviour WHEN INFORMED OF THIRD PARTY EXPERT WITNESS REPORT after first discussing the defective work. Please note, prior to Mr Gammon commencing on site it was agreed he would complete each plot working consecutive working days so that other trades could follow and yet he left site for three days with little regard to other trades following behind him or the deadline for completion as the plot has been sold. It was also agreed payment would be made on completion of the plot and yet he requested a first instalment on his first day which we paid in good faith the second payment was requested for completion of the plot albeit he had not completed and by his own statement three/four days work remained. He then disappeared for three days. PLEASE TAKE THIS AS A SERIOUS WARNING THAT MR GAMMON SHOULD BE TREATED WITH CAUTION AND I AM SURE HE WILL TRY AND EXPLAIN AWAY MY COMPLAINT BUT I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROVIDE PHOTOTGRAPHIC EVIDENCE SHOULD ANY ONE WISH TO VIEW HIS DEFECTIVE WORK.

Mr Gammon is a gentleman. It was a pleasure to do business with him. His value for money is excellent. He has a pleasant personality, and it appears to me that he wants to do the best job he can. I recommend Mr Gammon highly. Mr Gammon tiled my kitchen floor (22 m2) in porcelain tiles and the kitchen walls in Marlborough hand made tiles. Laying the floor was complicated as there were lost of cuts, the floor tiles came in two sizes, and the skirting boards were replaced by up-stands made from the tiles. Mr Gammon produced a very pleasing pattern with tiles - more pleasing than my original pattern. The kitchen wall tiles came in three colours and Mr Gammon tiled the walls in a very pleasing pseudo random pattern. I would gladly hire Mr Gammon again.

Delighted with tiling, Steve was conscientious and highlighted pros and cons for various options. Will use again!

Tiling job was done well - very pleased with the job. Steve does not do anything but tiling, so in my case I needed to get someone else in to shave the doors to take account of the thickness of the tiles.

The date for the work to be done was altered a number of times, which was partly my fault and also partly due to Steve, but to his credit he was trying to fit the work in over a weekend. Once it was started Steve completed the job very promptly and gave good advice on maintenance, and left the area neat and tidy afterwards. Thanks.
