Review left on 22 Aug 2018Rating: 1 out of 5Lighting fuse keeps tripping
Came round and within 10min said the issue was my spotlight and none of them were wired to spec and should be replaced. I agreed. He got the spotlights, ripped down the existing ones and put the new ones up - leaving gaps in the ceiling on all but one of them where he'd ripped parts of the ceiling off during removal. Told me I'd have to get someone else to fix that. Replaced the light bulbs in my kitchen light and when he switched that on - blew the fuse. He said that was just coincidence. Also told me the switch that he removed from the wall was now jammed (i.e. he somehow broke it when he removed it) and tried to charge me to replace that as well. He left me with a newly broken kitchen light and holes in my ceiling 1 - he should've been more careful removing the existing spotlights and not damaged the ceiling 2 - if damage was unavoidable, spotlights with a wider diameter would have hidden the issue - I can see that these are available on Amazon 3 - he left my flat more damaged than when he started, after 1.5hours (which includes going out to buy materials) with a bill for £247, wanting to charge even more to make good the ceiling and replace the kitchen light I'm paying £200 for the materials and fitting of 6 spotlights and still feel thoroughly ripped off. Would not recommendAnswer from tradesperson:
Firstly; the existing halogen lights burnt the cables in the void to a crisp. light fittings were glued in the ceiling with so much silicone due to previous installer not using a proper hole saw and so holes were jaggered and cut way too big. So I had to use a knife to cut neatly as possible around the light fittings to get the silicone off. Due to the extreme heat of halogen bulbs the plaster is crumbling away also due to age. Customer accepted fault finding fee but then did not want to pay it. Already given her a discount. Made her lighting circuit safe & usable & to comply with regs. I had to go out and buy her new light fittings which took an hour but did not charge for that. She stated amazon sells one that could of fit but am sure there is no amazon store around at the time. During the install I told client she need someone to make good the ceiling due to the crumbling of the plasterboard & she said ok Regarding the kitchen light; same again halogen bulbs were used and the cables inside the fitting was burnt also. When changing the bulb to led for client I notice there was already damage. Light switch somehow was damaged & client blamed me. Only thing I did was switch it on&off like Normal. All in all everything was explained to client after job was completed. If there were issues she could of asked me at the time. But instead waited over a week to tell me she not happy and only wanted to pay half and wanted ceiling made good for absolutely nothing.

Highly recommended. Alan moved a TV socket from a plaster wall to concrete wall on the other side of the room and mounted the tv bracket and tv in the bedroom.
