I contacted A1 builders for a quote on an extension inside kitchen area renovated with new fitted kitchen installed. The quote was fair and we did come into some complications but it was rectified. Workers were polite and friendly although a little untidy but the end result far exceeded my expectations and I’m very happy with the work and will use A1 builders again.

Was agreed to complete a full renovation on a 3 bed terrace. It stopped after plastering and 1st fix plumbing. Although punctual and communicated well. Work was far below average, plastering un even, trowel marks, thick bits of plaster left on wall, gaps between ceiling and wall - I asked them to go over some bits, which seemed alien to them because they said ‘you won’t be able to see that when the radiator is on’. Didn’t agree with it as I was paying £6800. They blamed the age of the house (1900) but when it was going back to almost bare brick, it’s easy to get the walls straight. They were very messy, not tidy, ruined brand new patio door, expandable foam left all up guttering, hiding rubbish in between floor boards, had brand new windows installed - they managed to get plaster all over the windows. It took me 3 attempts to find a plumber to complete 2nd fix bathroom, as 2 plumbers wouldn’t touch the job due to 1st fix. I’d write more but the word count on here does not allow me.

The job went mostly without issue, no problem with the workmanship of rendering or the attitude of the guys. They were helpful, punctual and easy to get along with. We had a few issues: damaged door, windows, pipework & lawn. Blocked drains. They did correct most of the issues but they were all completely avoidable and caused by carelessness. Snagging list was addressed, but I had an issue with eaves protectors being disturbed when the guttering was put back in place, They came back out and addressed. It reoccurred so I asked if they would come back out to sort it if I paid them but they didn't respond. Other issues found since include stained uPVC, downpipe/soil stack missing brackets/attachment points, downpipe not placed back in previous position (it now blocks me from accessing drain). Overall a decent job. 3.5/5

We hired A1 Building solutions to renovate our kitchen and change the layout giving us a new utility room and bathroom, and repositioning and installing a brand new kitchen. Job also involved digging out and re laying the concrete floor as well as putting in a new patio. The boys were outstanding from day one, the work was carried out really quickly and to a high standard and nothing was too much trouble for them. The pricing was really reasonable and any costs were fully itemised and explained. The guys at A1 have a wide range of skills too so they did all the work themselves so no delays waiting subcontracors etc. The work done has totally transformed our house and i would have no hesitation hiring A1 again. Highly recommended!

Excellent and honest service from Matt and Paul. Re-rendered and painted the whole outside of our house, repaired and painted wooden sash windows and replaced a few with double glazing. Treated us honestly and fairly throughout, even working some weekends to get everything done within our timeframe. Have recommended already to several friends who have used them and been please as well.

I am writing this on behalf of my mum this builder has caused nothing but stress to my mum 3 leaks from bathroom Pipes crossed threaded and wrapped with cloths whole kitchen ceiling down Please do not use my mum is so upset . I am going to see about making a claim against him and his partner. She was not going to leave feedback herself . But I am Fuming

Guys were professional, polite and respectful. They came up with a brilliant design for us in an awkward space. Work was excellent and finished on time. Very very happy with the finished bathroom. Would highly recommend them, and will be using them in the future. Thanku boys!

100 pct satisfied with the bathroom refurbishment, we found both lads extremely professional in everything they did .their work was very cleanly finished off .they came every day with a cheerful attitude and we would like to think that when the job was over we left as fiends. i would have no hesitation to use them again and would be recommending them to others i know if they need any work done.

Matt and Paul have just completed a refurb on a shower cubicle within an existing en-suite for me. They came up with good solutions to issues and completed the job in good time, working late if necessary. They paid attention to detail and kept us informed if any decisions needed making along the way. Tidied up properly each day and left it clean at the end. Communication was excellent. These guys work well together, are pleasant and honest. I would use them again.
