Roof leak on conservatory
Water leaked from the low-pitched roof through one of two skylight windows on the conservatory. Hired Thomas to replace all the slates with flat cement tiles according to his professional advice. He is very generous to offer 15 years guarantee of work.
Unfortunately, a heavy downpours five days later saw rainwater ran all the way into the conservatory through one of the skylight windows. Workers came the next day to install two Velux window flashing kits and replace over 20 tiles which were broken right after re-roofing.
About two weeks later, water leaked through one of the windows again. Without an on-site inspection, Thomas made a professional judgement that it must be a problem with the window.
As a result, I approached a professional skylight window installer to carry out an on-site inspection. The installer confirmed the windows are in good condition but there are gaps and holes between the flashing kits and tiles so that water can go all the way underneath.
Nevertheless, I still choose to believe Thomas’ judgement because he is such a professional roofer with 15 years experience. He can point out the problem without the need to see it for himself. He must be more professional than the skylight window installer.
I am highly impressed by Thomas’ professionalism and can-do spirit to fix the terrible defects of re-roofing. He is the most professional roofer I have ever met. I hope he can keep making a good fortune with his honest way of doing business.
