I invited Krasimir to view the job and showed him what needed doing. As his quote was significantly cheaper than the others I received, I hired him. He agreed to start work on the Saturday, which was impressive.
I was disappointed when Krasimir arrived, as he quibbled over many of the details. My room had a radiator, plug socket and skirting board - did I want the insulation put around them? No, Krasimir, I want the insulation put beneath them. These obstacles, common to many rooms, ought not to have been a surprise. Krasimir had already seen the room.
I guess the idea is that he quotes low and adds extra things on afterwards. Krasimir said that was not his job to remove the radiator and charged me £100 extra to get someone else in to do it. If he had told me beforehand, I could have done it myself.
Ordinarily, I'd give someone a negative for pulling that kind of stunt. However, Krasimir's plasterer seemed pleasant and he did a good job.
The price (even with the extra £100) was still the best!
