We hired Keiran to lay new floorboards and fix joists as floor was extremely creaky. Unfortunately we would advise against hiring Keiran. Several floorboards were cut too short leaving visible gaps and the new boards have already started to creak. There was also damage to our home: the radiator started leaking because of a badly cut board; a wall is now needing filled, sanded and repainted; a door frame was badly damaged and needs repair or replaced; the lino of our adjacent kitchen was ripped; and the threshold of our front door and some skirting boards were not put back properly. Some leftover boards were also left behind in the alley rather than uplifted as agreed. It has been impossible to get Keiran to take responsibility and come back to fix the issues. We did not want to pay him until this was the case but he put pressure on us and pulled at the heartstrings, promising to come back the next working day. Needless to say this did not happen and he became evasive about coming back, a stark contrast from his original can-do attitude. It has been a week and a half and we had to hire someone else to fix the mess.
We gave a young lad starting his business a chance and feel we have been taken advantage of. We wish we had given more weight to the negative reviews here that already highlighted that in case of a problem you would get nowhere with him.
