    Repair blown plaster

I would use this company again. Richard and Lee arrived at the agreed time, did the job as agreed and charged the price quoted. The job was done well, they were polite and didn't leave a mess.

    Porch ceiling / roof
Friendly and professional, they fixed our porch in the specified time and to the penny of the estimate. Very pleased with the workmanship, to the extent that we have already asked them to do another job for us.

Remove two fireplaces and make good

Cleverley contractors did a great job for me. Reuban managed the job and was very helpful and efficient, offering advice to solving any problems that cropped up on site. The work was realistically priced and it was completed efficiently and to a high standard. I would definitely recommend this company.

    Built-in wardrobe

The quote from Cleverley was not the cheapest, and I chose them because ‘carpentry’ was listed as their main specialism and because of the positive feedback I read on Mybuilder.com. Maybe my concern should have been raised by the many who had not left feedback. I found Gary and his associate to be helpful and accommodating; they arrived on time & tried to put right what they could & discounted the price of some of the work. I now have a built in wardrobe. On the negative side, they created a lot of damage to existing paintwork, wallpaper, and furniture (particularly a gouge to a cupboard door). Some of the materials used were substandard: damaged timber and a damaged new cupboard door, although the door was replaced without a quibble. Gary’s assistant needed more supervision than he was given, as he created many instances which resulted in my complaints. The other negative was in the way Gary assumed that he could use my property as his own (making his breakfast rolls in my kitchen & on arrival immediately charging his power tools). I felt most uncomfortable with this.

    Answer from tradesperson:

First the customer is always right………………… Due to only being able to say what I have to in 750 characters, I cant really say the full story of the event so, I’m just going to say sorry for using your electric while working in your home, and sorry for using your kitchen to make the 2 cheese and onion cobs which I bought from the shop, even though Helen gave me her chopping board and knife to do so? As well as telling me to help myself to tea and coffee! See for yourself Check out our FACEBOOK page to view our work. cleverley contractors ltd Gary Cleverley Director
