    new skirting . living room, 3 x door moulds, plus
    Alex came to fit window moulds, door moulds and skirting boards in knotty pine wood in our newly plastered living room. It all looked very nice initially. However, on closer look, some cheap and unsuitable ironmongerey was used on doors. The popping mechanism on doors isnt fixed properly and are not shutting doors as it should. Also, there are a few areas where the filling around door moulds has been forgotten about. And most of all, We werent very convinced of the knowledge Alex makes out he has regarding wood/timber. Due to his van broken, he had timber delivered, without checking it personally prior to the job. So when he came to do the job, he made out that the black marks on the skirtings were just dust and should come out with some sanding. However, they didnt and it seems more like they are black mould marks that might have left a deeper impression on the wood. And since we aren't planning on painting the wood. The marks are pretty hidious. We would have expected Alex to see to the problem before he fixed skirting to the plaster and offered a solution. He offered a solution after we pointed out that the marks are going after sanding, but he never came back to fix it and we have tried contacting him on number of ocassions and its been a month and a half now. So not happy with lack of knowledge, providing unsuitable ironmongerey and customer service side of things. Otherwise his work was not too bad.

    Answer from tradesperson:

    When I carried out the estimate you stated that you wanted bales catches on both internal doors. They weren’t cheap they just aren’t the best for use on an internal door, they are more for cabinetry work but you insisted on having them so I fitted them. As for lack of knowledge I don’t claim to know everything but I don’t take on work that I don’t have knowledge of especially considering I gave you a choice of patterns and sizes of skirting to choose from on the estimate, you asked questions throughout the day I carried out the worked I answered everything including your decorator asking what he should caulk the top of the skirting in( not that he needed to as I done it) also recitified all the plaster that had been done which was pretty shabby around door frames etc. You were very happy with the finished product and even a couple of days later I came to do a small job for you free of charge and you were happy with the work then. I try to please everyone, the work I carried out was to a high standard as I worked all day with no breaks or lunch to get it finished in the day.

    Replacing floorboards
    Alex came out and quoted for job then cancelled first date to do job last Wed 26sept only to reschedule for Monday 1october and dod not turn up this has resulted in us having to cancel having laminate fitted tomorrow one angry 😡 customer

    31m - Skirting board fitting in living and dining room
    Alex popped round to check out our job before providing a competitive quote. Gave very useful advice on type and amount of skirting + architrave to buy. Turned up and completed the job whilst we were away - happy to have him working alone in the house - he left it extremely clean and tidy and we are very happy with the workmanship. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

    Laminate flooring
    Polite, quiet, tidy, hard worker. Done our laminate flooring to a high standard. Highly recommended. Will keep his number to pass on or if we need any more jobs

    Other reviews spoke very highly of Alex and I can certainly echo those comments.True to his word he charged the price agreed,arrived at the exact time he said he would and completed the work required to perfection within the day. So much so that people who have visited me since the work was completed have commented on just how good the job is and have asked for his details. I would highly recommend Alex so much so that I have lined him up to fit my new kitchen next. If your after perfection for your job, then Alex is the tradesman you need to hire.

    Overboarding ceiling in living room
    Excellent job - Alex was quick to reply to initial post, responded quickly to any queries, prompt and pulled out the stops to complete the job for me (I had plasterers turning up ). Would highly recommend
