I had booked Stephen to carry out a job and had agreed a date and time for him to come round to carry out the works. Following an email exchange the morning of the job, he informed me he wouldn't be in the area until 2 hours after the agreed time. He then didn't show up at all. I have had no communication from him since to either apologise or rearrange the job.

Absolutely avoid that contractor. Hire them for two projects at same time, one to put new pitched roof in place of flat roof including all demolition works etc. They finished half of the job and get paid up front for almost all of it. They ordered materials for roof trusses which can not be used (checked with my building control). They damaged my neighbour shed as well. When I ask them when they gonna finish they ask for some more money because they can't afford to get to Mansfield. During that job I give them another job which was re-roof on terraced house (another of our properties). They left me with unfinished job. They damaged my property during the work (one of the workers put his foot through the ceiling in new decorated bedroom), the roof is badly leaking. Got another company to check what's going on and was told all is done wrong. We need to dismantle half of the roof and put it back again. Lots of damages inside the house because of massive leak. Two bedrooms upstairs, front room and kitchen walls damaged by the water. We need now another renovation which will be cost a lot. All I've heard from them was we will do that tomorrow. Case will end up in the court. We sent a messages, letters but no response. If you want to ruined your property employe them otherwise avoid.

About four days after agreeing the price and a day to do the work I was contacted and told that he could not do the job after all. He told me that he had inadequate insurance and was unwilling to upgrade it. Fair enough - but rather disappointing. We cancelled the contract. I cannot leave positive feedback.

Karl is a nice chap, has the skill but lacks time management and his finishing touch is poor unfortunately. He told me it’s going to be 2 man job but the 2nd person was not full time. So he did most of the job on his own and towards the end there was still lots to be done so unfortunately I got a rushed bolched job. He promised spot lights general but left the last room with same old light, part of the work was not completed but had to pay extra for it to be done. Did a nice kitchen and left space for fridge and washing machine but plastered the old sockets to the wall and did not leave any socket to plug the fridge, has to get an electrician out. Also no holes made within the cupboard to pass through the washing machine hose, had to get a plumber. Majority of the flooring and tiles in bathroom has not been filled. He did a ceiling in one of the room and there are leaks within a week. With the amount of money spent, I am disappointed that I still have to pay people to do extra bits and pieces. I am grateful that he tried his best and tried to complete the work. PBut I would have appreciate if he worked at a good pace and not rushed the job towards the end. Without good finishing touches, it looks like I had hired a Bob the builder.

Unfortunately Neil had an accident before he was able to finish the work in the garden that I wanted. He did, however, cut the hedges and made a great job of them. He also cleaned up all of the leaves, so no mess. He is a very pleasant man and I hope he will be able to return when he regains his health.

A 2 Bedroom Flat: We hired Connor to Elusion ALL walls, Ceilings, Gloss Interior doors, Skirting Boards, Staircase & Exterior Front Door. At that he had no negative feedback, gave a reasonable price, his photos on My Builder were impressive. The flat was empty he was given the keys. On arriving to pay him the Front Door had NOT been painted, it was included in the quote. Stepping inside THE STAIRS & SKIRTING BOARDS WERE ABSOLUTELY FULL OF VERY THICK RUNS, this was the SAME IN EVERY ROOM INCLUDING ALL THE INTERIOR DOORS & DOOR JAWNS. He BLAMED THE PAINT. Later he admitted THAT HE HAD NOT STIRRED THE PAINT BECAUSE HE HAD FORGOT HIS STICK. My husband is a pensioner & in poor health, because he became foul mouthed & extremely aggressive, he was FULLY PAID TO LEAVE. However, I contacted him through My Builder & I insisted we only communicate this way so everything would be logged. He agreed to come back and sort all the glossing as he didn’t want Negative Feedback. But we would have to wait, on the day he came back he hadn’t brought any Sanding Paper but we handed him plenty. He started at 9am & we drove off to an Doctors appointment. At 10am he texted to say he had finished, THIS WAS JUST IMPOSSIBLE. We arrived at 10.30am to find Connor had gone. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. THE new paint had NOT been opened. He admitted the GLOSS STREAKS WERE IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE, THEREFORE HAD QUIT. Overall it was a costly & upsetting experience

Muhammad's approach to this job varied greatly from one day to another. On some days he seemed very keen and hard working. On others he seemed rather casual. His time keeping was poor and he rarely arrived at the time he suggested. When initially quoting for the job he stated the quote included scaffoding but having spent a day searching for scaffolding he then carried out the job without it. In the end after spending considerably longer than he initially stated, he did a reasonably good job. Despite paying him immediately and asking for an invoice for my records, I am still waiting.
