I work for construction company. We build mansions, houses and everything involved brickwork. We refurbish listed buildings built by lime mortar as well. I have personal experience refurbishing buildings with historical importance. One of my greatest experience and work was 'Tudor house' museum in Southampton. The work was involved not only brickwork but lime render, lime wash and 'tudor panels'.
