We have been working with Derek Borkiewicz (Sebek Construction) on a renovation of a garden flat in Little Venice since last autumn. We needed to completely restore the whole flat, including the garden. This was our second renovation project and by this time we knew what we wanted to do, which mistakes to avoid and what to pretend from a qualified builder. We will never stop saying how lucky we have been to find Derek and his team! Derek is not only a professional builder who is very careful to the smallest of the details. He is not only a very good project manager who is constantly checking the work of his men. Derek is a friend who takes on board a project like it is his own project. He suggested the most convenient and best solutions for any problem we came across during the works. There wasn’t a time when he didn’t know what to do to solve a difficult situation (and there are lots of small and big issues coming up in a renovation work) no matter how complicate they were and how long it took to solve them. His availability and his courtesy are incredible above all in a fast running city like London. This is priceless to us. His hard work can be seen in the wonderful result we reached with this garden flat. If we ever decide to work on another project we won’t think twice about working with Derek once again. In fact, now that we found the perfect man to work with, we are looking forward to finding another renovation project to work on! Monica

Morty was absolutely AMAZING! His professionalism and dedication to the job is unmatched! His work is exceptional and he has made myself and my partner very happy with the assembly of our bespoke wardrobe. He ended up working a little more than he expected due to the work being a big job and didn’t complain or ask for extra money. He has also offered to come back if needed after all his hard work. Really good team. The work was excellent. The only thing to comment is that the team could have finished the work faster but overall I’m happy with their work. Very involved and caring team. It felt like they were doing their own bathroom. Good price as well.

I will be neutral in this review. Pros- Paolo was quick to respond to do all the jobs on my list (kitchen handles, tv wall brackets and shelving). We agreed on a date and informed him of the colour of handles. He was covid safe in my house. If he needed any items he went to the local hardware shop while on the job. He was flexible and agreed to put up a mirror which was outside of original scope but one job from the original scope had been removed. Cons- He got the wrong handles (despite several written messages stating the colour) forcing me go to Howden’s on the day and queue up for an hour to get the correct handles. Later he said he didn’t have to tools to install the kitchen handles anyway. I had to stop my day to help him with the tv bracket instructions. He did two out of three brackets agreed. After he left I realised there were missing elements in one bracket which I now have to rectify. There was inadequate protection put up in the areas being drilled - so a lot of dust ended up on the floor and furniture. He did offer to clear up later but there was no time. He made measuring errors which meant there are now four visible holes in my living room chimney breast at eye level. No apology received. He offered to put it right - if we wanted him to. Now we have to correct these visible defects. He also put up some shelving incorrectly and had to redo the holes. This is a factual account of events.
