I'm Tom, the person behind Furze & Fix — a local handyman service based in Furzedown, South London. I've been hands-on with DIY and home improvement projects since studying Design & Technology at school, and over the years that's grown into a genuine passion for building and fixing things properly. I've increasingly been taking on professional work and am now looking to offer my services more widely. I offer a range of general handyman services but my particular strength is joinery — things like decking, shelving, and general woodwork, where I take pride in getting the details right. I'm also happy to help with furniture assembly and general home fixes. By trade I'm a chartered engineer with a mechanical engineering degree, so accuracy, proper planning, and doing a job to a high standard aren't optional extras for me — they're second nature. I don't currently take on electrical or plumbing work, but for anything in the carpentry, assembly, or general handyman space, I'd love to help. I'm continuing to build a reputation job by job, so you can expect care, reliability, and a tidy finish every time. I take on handyman work: flat-pack assembly, shelves and mirrors, TV mounting, door and handle adjustments, and small repairs around the house. Before this I was a director at RID Builders, a family renovation and interior design company in London, so I am used to working to a fixed quote and a start date that does not move. I quote a fixed price before I start rather than charging by the hour, so you know the cost up front. I turn up on the day I say I will, and I clear up after myself. Happy to come and look at the job, I'd always recommend that first, but can also give estimations through pictures, videos, and message if really needed or if its a small job.
