Thoughtful Construction & Groundworks is the trading name of Thoughtful Construction Ltd, an independent building firm on the Fowey estuary in south Cornwall, with nearly ten years of building experience behind it. We work on older properties and difficult sites, and we design, build and finish our own work with one team. We draw up straightforward projects ourselves and work alongside architects and engineers on complex ones. What we do - New builds and timber-frame buildings, from foundations to finishes - Whole-house renovation, including listed and older buildings - Bathrooms in natural stone and microcement, with underfloor heating - Kitchens and cabinetry made in birch plywood in our own workshop - Raised decks on sloping ground, with balustrades and steps - Garden rooms - Gabion and reinforced concrete retaining walls - Sewage treatment plants and drainage - Bases and footings on steep or tight sites Second homes and holiday lets If you can't be here, we work through your key-holder or agent and send photos every week. You get a written quote by stage, and the work is fitted around your lettings calendar. We carry public liability insurance. Electrics and gas are done by registered trades, and you get their certificates. We are a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency. We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from handover. If a fault in our work shows in that time, we come back and put it right. We work in Fowey, Polruan, Bodinnick, Lanteglos, Golant, Lostwithiel, Tywardreath, Par, St Austell and Mevagissey.
