John was very good with me and communication was OK. As this is a student house I haven't visited the property, but upon completion the students reported a poor finish, the letting agency went out to investigate and have taken photo's to show poor finish and have asked that correction works need to be done. I took this with a pinch of salt as i thought it was the students putting pressure on the agency. I had another builder round the house yesterday to repair a brick wall in the garden and sort some lead flashing. He gave me a ring to say how poorly fitted the bathrooms are and has suggested that work needs to be carried out to rectify them. The current builder was shocked, hence the phone call on an issue that I hadn't even mentioned to him. I am very disappointed with the quality of the work from J Hamilton Contracts.

Choose the Littlefields! I am so happy with my new front garden and with the efficient and friendly service of Peter and son, Peter. They went over and above, even clearing, unasked, a blocked drain they discovered. They contacted me when they were going to arrive later than usual one day and always kept me updated about what would happen when. The organisation of deliveries and clearances ensured everything was well timed. They attended to every little detail, discussed everything and made sure I had what I wanted. I cannot praise them enough. I felt none of the discomfort I have had in the past about whether I would get what I asked for or if corners would be cut. This made a big difference to me. I would certainly recommend Meon Valley Surfacing for all types of groundwork and outdoor work. They arrived on time, well presented and very friendly. They worked very hard and completed the job a day early. They were very tidy and the finished job looks very professional. They were very easy to contact and were very quick to give us their quote - which was the cheapest estimate from 4 we had received. Very pleased we are looking to use them again in the New Year.

Dawid and Mattusz were able to pop round to see the job shortly after I posted it. They gave me a good price and I gave them the go ahead to do the job as it was urgent. They were really nice, shoes off at the door (unprompted) and solved the problem. They cleaned up afterwards and were really professional throughout. I will be saving their number and using again!

Paul and his team did great work on a big job, removing 60m long conifer hedge and replacing with hand built fence. Great quality job, Paul was also very proactive in working round unforeseen problems. The price was very competitive and I have no hesitation in recommending AJ’s fencing.

We recently had Jack and his team complete a single‑storey rear extension for us, along with a new driveway and enclosed rear gates. From start to finish, the whole project was handled brilliantly. Jack’s communication was excellent — we asked plenty of questions and he always took the time to explain everything clearly. Even when building control raised a few minor items, Jack dealt with them quickly and without any stress for us. The workmanship throughout is outstanding, and everyone treated our home with real respect. Huge thanks to Jack for all his effort and coordination, Matt for the groundwork and driveway, Seamus for keeping things moving in all weather, Jake and team for the superb plastering and rendering, Mark for his great work and lighting advice, Luke for the speed in the brickwork laying and support — and all other team members whose hard work made this project such a success.
